X Anniversary Russian School of Pediatric Urology-Andrology
The X Anniversary Russian School of Pediatric Urology-Andrology was held in Moscow (Russia) on April 7-8, 2022. This is an annual event that brings together leading specialists, the best Russian pediatric urologists-andrologists, to discuss topical issues and trends in the specialty. The school was organized by the Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology n. a. N.A. Lopatkin – a branch of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and by the Urological Information Portal UroWeb.ru
This year the X Anniversary Russian School of Pediatric Urology–Andrology was held in the physical and virtual formats again, so each participant could choose the most comfortable option for themselves. Certainly, due to long restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and ban on holding face-to-face events with a large number of participants, doctors were particularly happy to have the opportunity of live communication. At the same time, thanks to the online broadcast, specialists from different Russian regions and other countries, who could not have personally come to the capital, listened to the reports. The total number of specialists taking part in the event was 211 people.
We unite urologists from all over the country The extremely wide geography of participants testifies to the great interest of specialists in the topics raised and proposed for discussion. Among speakers and listeners there were doctors from St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Samara, Stavropol, Astrakhan, Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Nizhnevartovsk.
Bright reports and interesting clinical cases were also presented by specialists from Ufa (Republic of Bashkortostan), Saransk (Republic of Mordovia), Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan), Izhevsk (Republic of Udmurtia), Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan), Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan),etc.
Of course, Moscow specialists also shared their best practices. The event was attended by doctors of the Children's City Clinical Hospital n. a. N.F. Filatov, the Morozov Children's City Clinical Hospital, the Scientific and Practical Center for Specialized Medical Care for Children n. a. V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky, the Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology n. a. N.A. Lopatkin – a branch of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University and other legendary healthcare institutions.
Scientific part
During the event, pediatric urologists-andrologists listened to the leading specialists reports on current topics and acute issues of the specialty. During the first day, the participants got acquainted with reports on endovideosurgery in pediatric urology, treatment of hydronephrosis, obstructive uropathies, vesicoureteral reflux, neurogenic bladder dysfunctions and infectious diseases of the urinary tract, urolithiasis. The most difficult clinical cases were presented and proposed for discussion. The audience interest in the stated issues was obvious due to the participants high activity: each report was accompanied by intense discussion. Specialists exchanged professional opinions on the issues raised and treatment tactics.
The science programme of the second day was devoted to a wide range of topics on andrology and genital surgery. Leading experts talked about cryptorchidism, modern treatment options for hypospadias in children, varicocele, pathologies of the foreskin, treatment of urethral doubling. The audience learned about the unique surgical experience, modern methods of surgical interventions and the latest technologies used in the urological and andrological diseases treatment.
Both days of the scientific and practical conference turned out to be extremely eventful and fruitful. The doctors discussed a wide range of topics, emerging trends, and development prospects. At the end of the event, all participants noted the high importance of the event and stressed the need for it in the future. The Anniversary Russian School of Pediatric Urology-Andrology increases the unification and communication between pediatric urologists-andrologists, exchange of professional knowledge and opinions among them and, as a result, further development of this specialty in Russian Federation.
